Ashley and Zach’s classic blush and blue wedding was a day filled with gorgeous moments and lots of love…and they chose to get married on Ashley’s parents’ anniversary so it was extra special!
Ashley recalls: We’re very close with family and being able to share a special day with them meant a lot to us. We wanted it to be a fun and upbeat wedding with amazing company, food and drinks!
Our color scheme was blush, navy, and gold and we were going for a simple but elegant look. Something that had a classic but romantic feel to it and would stand the test of time. We didn’t want to look at our photos years from now and say “I can’t believe that was the trend!”
Blush and blue wedding details were also used with the bridal party- the adorable flower girls’ dresses, white and blue striped ribbon on the bridesmaid’s bouquets, and blush bridesmaid dresses create such a pretty and elegant look
One thing that was clearly evident to us the first time we saw Ashley and Zach’s wedding is how intensely Zach loves Ashley. You can see it in the pictures but when Ashley ended up in the hospital the morning of the wedding, Zach’s love for Ashley was proven once again…
I was actually in the hospital a few days prior to the wedding for kidney stones and go figure, the morning of our wedding, I woke up at 2:00 AM in pain. My parents and sister took me to the hospital which is where I spent most of my morning. I was so sick during the morning/afternoon I ended up getting an IV on the way to our venue…not being able to see Zach until our First Look was so hard, but worth every minute! We ended up having to leave the reception about an hour early because I started feeling sick again. We asked our driver to take us straight to the hospital where we spent our honeymoon and next 3 days. Needless to say it wasn’t quit the honeymoon we hoped for but at the end of the day I got to marry my best friend and we got an interesting story out of it!
The arbor that Ashley and Zach exchanged “I Do’s” under was made by Zach- Ashley saw one on Pinterest and really loved it so he made it exactly how she wanted it. Amazing, right?
A Blush and Blue Wedding Reception: Guests were seated at classic rectangular dining tables dressed with blue and white striped table runners, white candelabras, and blush floral arrangements; dinner was an Italian buffet.
Even though Ashley wasn’t feeling well, they managed to have their first dance and enjoy some of their perfectly lovely blush and blue wedding cake made by Pixy Cakes before heading to the hospital (can you even believe Ashley made it through the whole day? She’s such a strong and sweet bride).
Despite not feeling well, Ashley recalls: Everything ended up more beautiful than we imagined and we were so happy with all of it!
Congratulations Ashley & Zach and thank you for sharing your classic blush and blue wedding with us!
